Agios Nikolaos is a beautiful Greek village characterized by offering a wide variety of attractive landscapes. Agios Nikolaos borders with Metangitsi to the north, with Pyrgadikia to the north east, with Armenistis Beach to the south, and with Nikiti to the south west.

Due to its extension and location, Agios Nikolaos counts with many different interesting and attractive landscapes. The eastern and south eastern area of the village is characterized by its plains and agricultural environment, being this an area where tourists could observe attractive landscapes with olive trees and green extensions.

When going from the north to the southern area of Agios Nikolaos, visitors could feel like they are in a completely different destination. The southern area of Agios Nikolaos offers a mountainous background provided by the mountain range of Sithonia. This mountain range is also surrounded by a large forest, creating a mysterious and attractive background which offers an important contrast with the other sights tourists could observe in this destination.

An important part of the north eastern area of Agios Nikolaos is covered by forests, which contrasts with many of the beaches visitors could find in that part of the village. Tourists who wish to stay in Agios Nikolaos for some days could find a variety of hotels and other facilities near the main beaches. Besides these hotels, visitors could also find several restaurants, cafes and taverns where they could enjoy a nice local meal in a traditional environment.

The economy of Agios Nikolaos is mainly based on agriculture and fishing activities, both of them extremely important for the development of the village since its origins about six centuries ago. This village is famous by its olives, and an important part of its income is based on their commercialization. Besides this, since the last decades tourism has also become a very important source of income for Agios Nikolaos, gaining the same importance and having an impact similar to the village’s economy as fishing traditionally had.
